Family Recovery: Building The Family You Need With The People You Already have

  • Christ Church Kettering 3440 Shroyer Road Kettering, OH, 45429 United States (map)

We are kicking off Wednesday Nights at Mosaic Church. Everybody is welcome to eat dinner at 6:30 and bring their kids and teens for Mosaic Kids and Student Ministry. After dinner we will break into our studies. Here's a description of this mid-week recovery session:

Life is a team sport and family is your first team. Learn how to build the supportive family you need with the people you already have.

Bio: Steve Makofka is a master teacher and communicator. He is a Certified Family Life Educator and a member of the National Council on Family Relations.

He is the Psychoeducation Group Leader on the Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center Inpatient Unit, where he developed the current curriculum. Steve has a BS in Education and a Master of Divinity degree.

Previously, he was a pastor of youth and family ministries. His 25 years of pastoral experience have given him knowledge and experience in dealing with a variety of family issues.

He has been married to his wife, Lorrie, for 35 years.

Together they have raised four children and are now enjoying their four (so far) grandchildren. Steve's parents, who have been married for 60 years, live around the corner from him. This extended family network has given him an expertise in multi-generational relationships.

Steve is an active part of the Dayton music scene, having performed extensively as a singer, and as a guitar and keyboard player. He is also a 4th generation accordion player. He recently released an album of original children's music entitled, "Bring the Kids."
