I was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in England. I got my B.Ed. from London University and taught mathematics to students aged 11-18 years for 11 years. I grew up in the Methodist church in Sri Lanka and in England. Then, when I heard my call to ministry I came to the Methodist Theological School in Ohio for their Master’s in Christian Education. However, it was soon affirmed that I should really become a pastor and switched to the M.Div. During my time at the seminary, I met my husband Dana, and we were married in 1994.
Dana and I have a son Samuel who is currently living in Cincinnati and pursuing a nursing degree. My sister and brother, nieces, and nephew as well as my great-niece live in Great Britain, and I visit them whenever possible. We have an aging dog and cat living with us who need more and more care, but they are great companions.
I have served congregations in varying roles – as a youth pastor, associate pastor, senior pastor, and pastor of congregational care serving churches in Fairborn, Cincinnati, and Toledo – I-75 is well known to us! We came back to Dayton in 2018. I enjoy worship and preparing creative worship for all styles be it traditional or contemporary. Currently, I oversee Traditional worship and provide pastoral care, especially to those who are sick or grieving.
I am blessed to be a blessing and I thank God for the many ways the church family has been my family throughout my life. God’s faithfulness through joys and sorrows has enabled me to walk the journey of faith with others. I asked Jesus to come into my life in 1977 and He has been my Lord ever since. Trusting Him and obeying Him has been an adventure, and serving at Mosaic church fits right into that pattern where I am able to love all God’s people.
